Completed two-year Maths Teach First Graduate scheme
6 + teaching experience, specialising in KS3 and GCSE Maths
I consider myself a Maths enthusiast, keen to enhance the learning of students. My approach to tutoring is to identify underlying misconceptions students may hold and use this to tailor and personalise my sessions to meet individual needs. I am patient and a good listener which allows me to understand the problems that students encounter. I also focus on helping students develop confidence when tackling and solving problems. Working directly with the new GCSE specification allows me to help students work towards achieving or exceeding their target grades. I have 6 years experience tutoring and I have received consistent and positive feedback.

I have always been passionate about helping the younger generation learn and develop; this became a reality when I joined the Teach First Network and cultivated a skills set that would allow me to make my dream a reality.

Through this network and in my current teaching role I have been able to access a range of pedological strategies to suit the various needs and levels of young people. I think it is an essential role of a tutor to differentiate the learning so that no child feels left behind, rather they feel supported in a safe and stimulating learning environment.

As a Head of Year, I am patient, resilient and have a strong understanding of the complex needs of young people and how to meet these. I have also been selected in my school to teach specific SEN, EAL and AP classes and therefore I am confident that this experience will ensure that I will be able to tailor a personalised approach to my tutees based on their individual needs.
Saarah - Teacher of Science
Bsc (Hons) in Biology
PGCE in Science via Liverpool John Moores University Schools direct programme
4+ years teaching experience in KS3 and KS4 GCSE science
I am passionate about Science and sharing my knowledge with students. As a teacher I make it a priority to build successful relationships with pupils in order to facilitate an optimal learning environment.
My previous teaching experience with a wide diversity of students will allow me to tailor sessions based on each individual. I believe this is crucial in enabling students to reach their full potential.
I intend to motivate my pupils through positive encouragement and reinforcement of scientific concepts by identifying common misconceptions and using this to bridge gaps in knowledge.
